Summer Spotlight - Jordan Perzan

Summer Spotlight - Jordan Perzan

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Jordan Perzan (Burlington, Conn.), a rising senior from our softball program:

How did you get into your sport? I fell in love with softball at the age of 10. I just sort of happened upon it because my friends were joining our local little league. Since then I have enjoyed every minute of my experiences with the sport and all the friendships it has brought me.

Why did you choose Curry? I chose Curry because it was the only school that provided me with a very successful nursing program and great softball program. Having a very rigorous degree, I knew playing a sport simultaneously would be difficult, but the coaching staff ensured me it would be doable. As a rising senior, I am glad to say that the coaching staff has lived up to their word and provided a successful environment for me to learn and play in.

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Aside from playing softball, I also enjoy hiking, fishing, and kayaking with friends.

Are you involved in other activities on the Curry campus? If so, explain. On campus, I am also involved in the Curry College Student Nurses' Association.

What is your dream job? My dream job is to be a flight nurse.

What is your greatest sports moment? My greatest sport moment was during the 2018 Spring Break trip in Fort Myers, Fla. During a game against Blackburn, during my three at-bats, I first homered to right-center, then to center, and finished my last at-bat with an RBI to left center.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Off the field, my favorite thing to do with my teammates is taking a trip to PS for our daily iced coffee.

Interesting fact about yourself? One fact about myself is that I am a certified EMT-B and volunteer for my local ambulance company.

Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Hike the Grand Canyon, 2. See the Great Barrier Reef, and 3. Become a flight nurse.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? My only pregame ritual is to hit a homer in the game during warm-ups. If it happens in the cage, it will happen on the field... maybe.
