Softball Digital Senior Day

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College softball Class of 2020 will depart as a very dedicated and committed group. The three seniors were all four-year student-athletes and guided the Colonels to two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament appearances. Below you will find career summaries along with what head coach Bruce Weckworth had to say about each of them:

Molly Horn (Buzzards Bay, Mass.)

A four-year member of the program, Horn recorded a career batting average of .273 along with a .317 on-base percentage and a .309 slugging percentage. A two-time CCC Academic All-Conference selection, she played in 87 games and registered 30 hits, including four doubles. Horn also finished with six RBI, 27 runs scored, and one stolen base. Additionally, Horn garnered a CCC Rookie of the Week selection in the 2017 season.

"Molly was a true walk-on player who played all four years," Weckworth said. "She found her way into my office the first week of school her freshman year and asked if she could try out. Molly is a talented athlete who could play the infield or the outfield. She had the best years in the program during her junior and senior years."

Michaela Colleran (East Bridgewater, Mass.)

A four-year member of the program, Colleran posted a career batting average of .302 to go with a .341 on-base percentage and a .418 slugging percentage. A two-time CCC Academic All-Conference selection, she saw action in 105 games and tallied 96 hits, including six home runs, and 19 doubles. Colleran also registered 59 career runs batted in, 49 runs scored, and one stolen base.

"Michaela was a two-year captain in the program and has been the backbone to the defense as a catcher," Weckworth said. "Her strong throwing arm and solid bat made her a complete player. Her leadership skills have grown every year in the program."

Caroline Johnson (Milton, Mass.)

A four-year member of the program, Johnson has a career batting average of .203 to go with a .293 on-base percentage and a .236 slugging percentage. She played in 66 games and collected 25 hits, including four doubles. Johnson added 18 runs batted in and 13 runs scored.

"Caroline was a captain in her senior year and a leader in the SAAC group," Weckworth said. "She began looking at Curry in her sophomore year of high school, so I feel like I've known her the longest. Caroline played the corners and was our designated hitter over the years."

Weckworth had this to say about the Curry Softball's Class of 2020 as a group:

"It is safe to say that the 2020 softball senior class is a very dedicated and committed group. These three started together and finished together. They have been academically committed throughout their four years and were totally invested in the softball program. They have been good citizens on campus and have represented the College well in all of their actions."
