FORT MYERS, Fla. – On Day 3 of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Florida, the Curry College Softball team defeated Montclair State, 1-0, and New Jersey City University, 4-0. The Colonels got a combined 14 innings of shutout pitching from senior Taylor Ahearn and freshman Mikayla Lambert. Curry evened its record at 3-3.

Against Montclair State, Ahearn scattered four hits and struck out five without issuing a walk. The Colonels plated the game's only run in the bottom of the fourth after sophomore Marissa Bruno stroked a single to left and came home on an RBI-double to left by senior Allie Carver.

Against New Jersey City, Lambert recorded six strikeouts while working around nine hits and two walks to record her first win of the season. She also had two hits, a walk and a run scored at the plate. Curry scored a pair of runs in the top of the first, and two more in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach.
