Softball Wraps Up Florida Trip With 3-0 Win Over St. Joseph's of New York
FORT MYERS, Fla. – In their final day of action in Fort Myers, the Curry College softball team split a pair of games, losing to Franklin & Marshall, 5-2, before defeating St. Joseph’s of New York, 3-0.

The Colonels trailed 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth, then Franklin & Marshall (9-4) put the game away by pushing across three more runs off of Curry starter Janelle Mayo. Freshman Taryn Vigeant drove in both runs for the Colonels (1-6) with a single in the fourth that scored classmate Chelsey Munsey, and a fielder’s choice in the sixth that plated freshman Gabrielle Dube. Mayo fell to 0-3, surrendering eight hits, a walk and four earned runs, while striking out three over 4 1/3 innings.

Curry ended its trip on a winning note against St. Joseph’s (3-3), as Munsey tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout. Sophomore Mikaela Carney drove in the Colonels’ first run in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to center field that scored senior Amanda Peters. Curry (2-6) got a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth, with Peters and freshman Heather Carrier driving in runs. Munsey evened her record at 1-1, walking two and scattering four hits over seven innings while striking out 11.
