
Albany, NY - The Curry Men's Volleyball team fell to 5-16 on the season on Saturday dropping matches to both SUNY Potsdam and Sage.
Match One vs SUNY Potsdam
After dropping the first set 25-18, the Colonels would even things up with a 25-20 second set win. Curry then used an 8-0 run early in the third to go ahead, but the Bears would use a 7-0 run of their own to take control back. The set would be tied at 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, but the Bears would pull out the set win 30-28. They would then cruise to a 25-11set win in the fourth, taking the match 3-1.
Chris Milfort led the way with 12 kills, ahead of Michael Swanigan who had eight. Owen Hemenway had 19 set assists, while Loden Broe had 16. Milfort led the team with eight digs.
Match Two vs Sage
The Colonels were swept in their second match of the day 25-22, 26-24, 20-25. Despite being swept, the match was actually very close, with neither team never holding a lead of more than five points.
Swanigan led the team with 10 kills in this one, just ahead of Milfort's eight. Milfort now has 200 kills on the season. Loden Broe had 19 set assists, while Milfort led the team with 12 digs.
Up Next - The Colonels will wrap up their season next Saturday when they take on MIT and Rutgers-Newark at MIT.
