SMITHIELD, R.I.- The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has added Curry College as a member, effective for the 2026 season, it was announced by the conference this morning.

The addition will bring the NEVC to eight members, as Curry will join current members Bard College, Endicott College, Nichols College, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam, Russell Sage College and Vermont State University – Johnson.

NEVC Commissioner Patrick Colbert is excited to welcome Curry to the fold. 

"This is an important day for the NEVC as we take important steps towards stabilizing men's volleyball in our region. Our membership remains committed towards supporting

Institutions by providing an infrastructure to effectively and efficiently administer their programs on-campus," said Colbert. "We are ecstatic to welcome Curry College to our league. They have demonstrated an intentional commitment towards building their program and have an excellent support system in place to ensure that they perform at a high level regionally and nationally."

Curry announced the addition of its men's volleyball program in 2023 and is embarking on its inaugural season in 2025. The Colonels are under the direction of head coach Alex Adelman.

"We're beyond excited for Curry Men's Volleyball to join the NEVC! This is the conference where we feel right at home, and it's the perfect place for us to compete at the highest level and explore other parts of New England" said Adelman. "I also want to give a huge thank you to the commissioner Patrick Colbert for welcoming us into this incredible community—we can't wait to get started!"

Upon entry, Curry will immediately be eligible for conference awards, conference play-offs and a chance for the NEVC automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.

"Joining the NEVC was the next step for our Men's Volleyball program, and we couldn't be more excited," said Curry Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione. "This is a great opportunity for the program and our student-athletes to not only compete with the best teams in the region, but also the country."
