Men's Volleyball Hires Alex Adelman as First Coach

Milton, MA – The Curry College Department of Athletics announced Tuesday morning that Alex Adelman has been named the first head coach of the school's men's volleyball program.

He comes to Curry after spending the past two seasons at his alma mater Elmira as an assistant coach on both the men's and women's team.

"I would personally like to thank Vinnie Eruzione and the Curry College Athletic Department for trusting me and allowing me to be the first Men's Volleyball Coach at Curry College," said Adelman. "I am honored and very excited about this opportunity, especially as Massachusetts has seen such a great increase in men's volleyball and it will only continue to grow."

In addition to his role at Elmira, Adelman also served as the head coach of the Elmira Heat 18u women's volleyball team, as well coaching experience with Sportime VBC and the Southern Tier Volleyball Club.

"Curry College is super excited to have Alex lead our new Men's Volleyball program.  His experience in recruiting and playing at the collegiate level should translate perfectly during our inaugural season," said Eruzione. "He is a tireless worker and a student of the game and I cannot think of better characteristics to start a program from the bottom up."

Adelman also played for the men's volleyball team at Elmira prior to becoming a coach, appearing in 88 matches. During his playing career he was named the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year in 2020, and was named to the United Volleyball Conference All-Academic Team from 2019-2022. He graduated from Elmira with a degree in Adolescence Education and Mathematics in 2022, and the received his master's from Elmira in 2023 in General Education.

"I am looking forward to developing a high level of play for the men's volleyball team, while also building a strong foundation for our players and instilling a commitment to continual success throughout their academic and professional futures.
