BEVERLY, Mass. – The Curry College men's tennis team lost a 7-2 decision at Endicott College on Wednesday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.

The Gulls began the day by taking all three doubles points and went on to capture four of six singles matches. Curry's points came courtesy of junior Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.) and sophomore Nicholas Bell (Haverhill, Mass.), with each picking up their first wins of the season.

The top Endicott duo of sophomore Brennan Nick (Tolland, Conn.) and senior Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) earned an 8-4 win over Curry's freshman pair Anthony Johnson (Boston, Mass.) and Roland Polasek (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic). The tandems of freshman Julian Richtarich (Westport, Conn.) and junior Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) and freshman Julian Coyle (Derry, N.H.) and junior Zachary Lane (Rutland, Vt.) also earned victories by finals of 8-4 and 8-2, respectively.

Nick, Rinkert, Dinardo, and junior Elijah Harris (Haverhill, Mass.) all cruised to straight set wins in singles and combined to lose only eight games between them. At the No. 4 spot, Russo took the first set 6-4 and then lost the second in a 6-3 final. He then won the 10-point tiebreaker the two played in lieu of a third set to earn the victory.

Bell earned a straight set victory (6-4, 6-3) over Lane at No. 5 singles.

Curry (0-2 overall) and Endicott will play again on Saturday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m. at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts.
