QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team blanked Curry 9-0 to earn its first league victory of the year Wednesday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.
The Lions improve to 7-5 on the season and 1-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Colonels slip to 0-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Eastern Nazarene posted three doubles victories to build up a 3-0 lead.
Shaw Campbell (Reading, Calif.) and Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) claimed an 8-2 win at the No. 1 doubles position over Toma Blatchford and Richie Hefler.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Vladislav Tolmachev (Perm, Russia) notched an 8-1 victory over Andrew Hegarty and Daniel Ritucci at the second spot.
Yahalel Carter (Chicago, Ill.) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) breezed past Sergie Evans and Nikar Akkawi 8-0 at the third doubles slot.
The home team swept the six singles matches to snap a three-match skid.
Partyka prevailed at the top singles spot against Blatchford 6-3, 6-4. Tolmachev posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position against Hefler.
Paterno powered past Hegarty 6-0, 6-3 at the third singles slot while Biondi rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fourth position over Ritucci.
Campbell blanked Evans 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot and Brandon Jenkins (Norton, Mass.)topped Akkawi 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth singles match.
Up next, the Lions will travel to the Ocean State to square off against Roger Williams April 9.
