Men's Tennis Earns First Win of the Season, Defeating Visiting Anna Maria, 7-2
MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Men’s Tennis team won its first match of the season, defeating visiting Anna Maria College, 7-2, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improved to 1-12 on the season, while the AMCATS fell to 2-8.

Curry began the match by sweeping the doubles. The first two doubles matches ended with 9-7 scores. At #1, junior Tyler Collins and freshman Cameron Chamberlain edged junior David Bourget and senior Mike Dandurand. At #2, the junior duo of Lucas Donaway and Evan Fishman got past junior Ben Chick-Reny and senior Haakim Ferguson. At #3, the freshman tandem of Eric Hellberg and Joe Berger easily dispatched sophomore John Brierley and senior Kadeem Brown, 8-0.

The Colonels then captured four of the six singles matches. Chamberlain knocked off Ferguson, 6-0, 6-1, at #2; Donaway took care of freshman Kevin Card, 6-0, 6-0, at #4; junior Paul Jeppesen defeated Brierley, 6-3, 6-1, at #5; and Berger blanked Brown, 6-0, 6-0, at #6.

Anna Maria earned its two points at #1 singles, where Bouget outlasted Collins, 5-7, 6-3, 10-6; and at #3 singles, where Dandurand handled Fishman, 6-3, 6-2.

Curry returns to action on Friday with a 4:00 p.m. conference match at Nichols. Anna Maria resumes play on Friday as well, hosting Mass. College of Liberal Arts in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
