Men’s Soccer Nearly Comes Back Against Suffolk

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 4-3 by Suffolk University in a Conference of New England men's soccer match Saturday morning at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 6-8-3 and a conference record of 0-3-3.

Trailing 4-0, the first Curry goal was scored on a penalty shot in the 64th minute of play. Freshman Aiden Watts (Plaistow, N.H.) aimed towards the lower left side of the goal to squeeze past the goalkeeper and put the Colonels on the board.

Seven minutes later, Noah Doyens (Shelton, Conn.) crossed the ball in front of the net to Watts who finished the scoring play to cut the Rams' lead two. Watts earned the hat-trick in the 74th minute, scoring his second penalty shot goal of the game to reach the games final score of 4-3.

Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y.) and Justin Ritz (Carver, Mass.) split time in goal for the Colonels, combining for six saves in the loss.

Curry College returns to conference play with a road matchup against the University of New England on Wednesday, October 23rd, beginning at 4 p.m.
