BIDDEFORD, Maine - The league offices announced Monday afternoon that two Curry College soccer players received weekly awards from the Conference of New England.
Sophomore goalkeeper, Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y) was named CNE Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row. Cunningham led the Colonels in a pair of shutout victories over Lasell and Colby-Sawyer, combining for 17 saves over the two-game span.
Freshman forward Aiden Watts (Plaistow, N.H.) has been a major force on the offensive end for the Colonels, earning CNE Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors. Watts scored a goal in each of the Colonels' last three wins over Lasell, Colby-Sawyer, and Lesley. The efforts of Watts and Cunningham have contributed to a four-game win streak in which Curry outscored its opponents 5-0.
Curry College looks to continue its win streak in a home game against Springfield College on Tuesday, September 10th, beginning at 7 p.m.
