MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Umass Dartmouth 1-0 in a non-conference collegiate men's soccer game Sunday afternoon at Walter M. Katz field.
With their first win, the Colonels improve to a 1-1 overall record on the young season.
Kaden Puglia (Marshfield, Mass.) scored the only goal of the contest, stealing the ball off a Corsairs goal kick and sending a shot over the goalkeeper's head to score his first career collegiate goal and give Curry a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute of play.
Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making a career-high 17 saves throughout the contest, including a penalty kick save to prevent UMass from a game-tying goal. Cunningham's 17 saves rank as the highest amount of saves in a shutout since 2009 and the third-highest in a game by a Curry goalie.
Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, September 3rd, in a home matchup against Lasell beginning at 6 p.m.
