KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Giovanni Martins (Brockton, Mass.), a sophomore on the Curry College men's soccer team, has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Region.

Martins was Curry's leading scorer in 2021 with six goals and two assists for 14 points in 18 games played. The sophomore also notched a pair of game-winning goals on the season, coming in back-to-back conference victories over Wentworth and the University of New England on October 12 and October 15. Martins was a one-time CCC Player of the Week and one-time CCC Rookie of the Week for the Colonels.

The sophomore was also named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Third Team in October. He is the first Colonel to receive an All-Region selection since Nick Gilman in 2014.
