Men's Soccer Comes Back to Down Wentworth

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team engineered a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, Curry improves to 7-4-3 overall on the season and 2-2-1 in the CCC. Wentworth drops to 7-7-0 and 2-3-0 in the league.

Wentworth got on the board first just 1:33 into the contest, when TJ Prouty netted his third goal of the season off of a long throw-in from Jomar Martins and a flick-on from Erik Treble. Prouty headed home Treble's flick to give the visitors the early advantage.

Curry wasted no time responding however, as sophomore Giovanni Martins (Brockton, Mass.) unleashed a howitzer from the top of the box that defeated Wentworth's keeper in the fourth minute. Junior Ryan Brady (Weymouth, Mass.) was credited with an assist on the goal.

The score held at 1-1 for nearly the balance of the match, until Martins and Brady teamed up for their second goal of the day with 6:08 to play. Off a Curry corner, Brady headed a loose ball to Martins who took one touch and blasted it into the net from in close for the game-winner.

Curry netminder Kyle Tremblay (Methuen, Mass.) made four saves to earn his sixth win of the season. Robbie West also made four saves for Wentworth in the losing effort.

Curry will return to action on Friday evening for its Homecoming contest against the University of New England at 7 p.m.
