Summer Spotlight - Richard Silva

Summer Spotlight - Richard Silva

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Richard Silva (Pompano Beach, Fla.), a rising junior from our men's soccer program:

How did you get into your sport? I fell in love with the sport when started playing it at seven years old and continue to play soccer.

Why did you choose Curry?  I chose Curry because of the environment and the soccer coaching staff was very helpful in making my decision.

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Listening to music, photography, and playing football.

What is your dream job? Play professional soccer

What is your greatest sports moment? Winning the 2018 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship with Newbury College and playing the NCAA Tournament.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Go to the beach.

Interesting fact about yourself? I have 32 cousins.

Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Travel the world, 2. Visit every professional soccer stadium in the world, 3. Visit all the Fórmula 1 tracks.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? Pray and ask God to protect me and my teammates and stretched us and call my mom to make sure she's going to watch me play.
