Men's Soccer Scores Two Second Half Goals to Defeat CCC Foe Salve Regina, 2-1

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Curry College men's soccer team defeated host Salve Regina University, 2-1, at Reynolds Field in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

The Seahawks took an early 1-0 lead in the first half and held onto it until the Colonels rallied for two goals in the final eight minutes to stun the Seahawks.

Quick Hits

• Salve Regina's Jared Warren (Georgetown, Mass.) headed a pass to Matthew O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) before volleying O'Donnell's feed while on top of the net for the game's first goal in the ninth minute. It was Warren's team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Steven DePina (Stoughton, Mass.) cleared out some room after a Colonel throw in from the far corner and tied the game at 1-1 in the 82nd minute with his third goal of the season.

Ben Silvia (Dartmouth, Mass.) gave the Colonels the lead in the 87th minute with his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

• Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.) made four saves for Salve Regina.

Mike Russo-Penta (Malden, Mass.) made one save in the victory for the Colonels.
