
JOHNSON, VT. – The Curry College men's soccer team downed Johnson State College 3-0 in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Minaert Field. The Badgers fall to 1-1 overall, while Curry improves to 1-1.
SCORING
1st Half: - The Colonels opened up scoring in the 33rd minute with a goal by Nick Swartz. Curry fired off ten first half shots compared to Johnson's two.
2nd Half: Dave Stapleton scored in the 56th minute, assisted by James Hytner to give the visitors a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd half. The Colonels wrapped up the scoring with Swartz getting his second of the day in the 74th minute to make it 3-0.
GOALKEEPERS
Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) played in net for the Badgers recording 16 saves on the day. Lane falls to 1-1 on the young season. Mike Russo-Penta picked up the win for Curry on a five save performance
NEXT UP
The Colonels return to the pitch on tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Emerson College. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
