Men’s Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) released their 2014-15 College Team Academic Award winners Wednesday and the Curry College Men's Soccer team was one of 859 teams recognized.

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

Curry as a team posted a 3.17 grade point average in the 2014-15 academic year. On the field, the Colonels went 11-10-1 (4-5 CCC) last season and advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament. This is the first NSCAA Team Academic Award for Coach Peter Mendel and the Colonels.

The team next takes the field Saturday at 11am in a Homecoming Match against CCC defending Champions Nichols College
