Men’s Lacrosse Wins Second Straight Over Nichols

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Nichols College 9-4 in a Conference of New England men's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field. Before the game, Curry recognized its seniors in a Senior Day ceremony.

The win marks two straight for the Colonels, improving to an overall record of 2-12 and 2-3 in conference.

Curry jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the first quarter. The first goal was scored by Brody Dalzell halfway through the period, assisted by Jed Cappuccino. The Colonels scored again two minutes later when Nicholas Cole connected with Mac Kline to give the home team a 2-0 lead.

Tied 2-2 in the third quarter, Dalzell intercepted a pass from the goalie and found Kline, who scored to give Curry the lead back. Cole assisted on the next two Curry goals by Dalzell and Kline, while Cappccino scored off a pass from Kline to put the Colonels on top 5-2 heading into the final quarter.

Sebastian Reid joined the list of goal scorers early in the fourth, once again assisted by Cole, to put the home team up 7-2. Reid scored again halfway through the period, followed by a Joey Pinto to Jack Canto connection to close out scoring.

Niko DeCola played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 11 saves to pick up his second win of the season.

Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, April 15th, for a conference matchup at Western New England beginning at 7 p.m.
