MILTON, Mass. – Following the cancellation of the spring seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including Senior Days, the Curry College Athletic Department wanted to give the senior student-athletes time to reflect on their career with the Colonels.
We continue our Senior Reflection web series and today we have Tyler Price (Oakdale, Conn.) from men's lacrosse:
Major: Community Health and Wellness, Biology Minor
Favorite Thing About Your Sport: One thing I have always loved about lacrosse is how the sport is not only physically demanding, but you must also be a student of the game and constantly work to improve not just for yourself, but the other men on the field wearing the same jersey as you.
Favorite Moment on the Field With the Colonels: My favorite moment on the field with the Colonels was making the best out of our short-lived senior season down in Maryland with so much uncertainty around us.
What Being a Student-Athlete Has Taught You: Being a student-athlete taught me that hard work is a quality that anybody can possess and it is the most important one.
What You'll Miss Most About Your Team, Curry, and Being a Student-Athlete: I'll miss the brotherhood aspect of our team, which was unlike any other team I have ever played for. I'll also miss doing all the seemingly unimportant things like early morning lifts or late-night practices.
Plans Post-Graduation and How Being a Student-Athlete Has Prepared You For Your Future Career Goals: After graduation I plan to work as an EMT until I have enough experience to apply for Physician's Assistant school. Being a student-athlete has taught me how to think critically in high pressure situations and balance multiple tasks at once.
What Advice You Would Give to Future Colonel Student-Athletes: The advice I would give is to always remember to take a step back and just enjoy being a student-athlete as much as you can. These four years will be the best of your life if you just enjoy it.
