Men's Lacrosse Absorbs 22-6 Loss at Endicott College

Beverly, Mass. – Endicott men’s lacrosse built a 15-0 halftime lead en route to a 22-6 The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) victory over visiting Curry on Saturday afternoon.  The Gulls remain unbeaten in conference play (4-0) and improved to 6-2 overall with the win.  Curry drops to 3-7 overall and 0-6 in the TCCC.

Sophomore goalie Mike Klein (Darien, Conn.) kept the Colonels off the board and made three saves during the first 30 minutes of play to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Junior attack Brian Vincent (Norwalk, Conn.) paced Endicott with five goals on seven shots.  Senior attack Chris Cotter (Lordship, Conn.) added four goals and one assist to go along with five ground balls.  Sophomore Connor McCormack (Chelmsford, Mass.) chipped in three goals for the Gulls, who have scored at least 20 in all four conference wins this season.  Senior Jack Curtis (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished with five points on two goals and a game-high three assists.

Curry was led by junior Russell Lanham (Silver Spring, Md.), who finished with a pair of goals and one assist in the setback.  Freshman attack Connor Arnold (Clifton Park, N.Y.) chipped in a goal and an assist for the visitors.

Cotter opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game on an assist from Brendan Eppley (Darien, Conn.), and then proceeded to double the lead at 7:45 with an unassisted goal.

Brian Estes (Derry, N.H.) scored his 11th goal of the season with just over five minutes remaining in the first period before McCormack and Kyle Jordan (Falmouth, Maine) capped the quarter with goals one minute apart.

Curtis made it 6-0 just over one minute into the second period and then promptly added another 17 seconds later.  Eight more goals, including a man-down goal from Estes and Kyle Burke’s (Haverhill, Mass.) first of the season, provided the insurmountable halftime lead.

Curtis found McCormack for the first goal coming out of the break to move the advantage to 16-0.  Curry responded with three unanswered including two straight from Lanham.  Arnold found the junior midfield for a man-up goal at 7:24 before Joseph Natale (Haverhill, Mass.) helped Lanham connect again at 2:42.  Kyle Abbott (Ashland, Mass.), who led the visitors with nine ground balls, finished off the third period scoring with an unassisted tally at 1:40.

The Gulls outscored the Colonels 6-3 over the final 15 minutes of play, highlighted by two goals apiece from Vincent and Cotter.

Junior goalie Michael Hibbard (North Chelmsford, Mass.) made 16 saves in the loss including 11 in the opening half.
