Men's Lacrosse Earns Second Conference Win Defeating Anna Maria 15-2

MILTON, Mass.-Sophomore attack Evan Hammersley  (Lynnfield, Mass.) scored five goals and added an assist to lead his team in a 15-2 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday in Milton.  With the win the Colonels improve to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The Amcats fall to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Anna Maria was down by just three goals heading into half time with a 5-2 score. That would be the end of the Amcats scoring and the Colonels would go on to score 10 unanswered goals for the 15-2 win.

Curry got goals from nine different scorers.  Four of those players had multiple points.  Sophomore Russell Lanham (Silver Spring, MD) scored three goals and added and assist and senior Paul Marchese(East Longmeadow, Mass.) scored one goal and added three assists. Junior Michael D'Amato(Redding, CT) and sophomore Sean Gallagher (Topsfield, Mass.) scored once and added an assist. Junior Kyle Abbott(Ashland, Mass.), sophomores Nicholas Haidemenos (Warwick, RI), Matthew Harlow (Melrose, MA) and freshman Joseph Natel (Haverhill, MA) each chipped in for a tally.  

Anna Maria's Luke Biggins (Sudbury, MA) scored both goals for his team. 

The Colonels only outshot the Amcats by nine, but Curry's sophomore goalie Michael Hibbard(Chelmsford, Mass.) made 14 saves allowing just the two goals and freshman Timothy McGonagle(Concord, Mass.) got in his first collegiate game and made five saves.
 
In net for Anna Maria was freshman Andrew Ellis (Fitchburg, Mass.) who made 11 stops for the loss.

The Colonels will travel to the University of New England on Tuesday, March 30 for a TCCC match-up at 4:00 p.m. Anna Maria hosts Becker College on March 30 for a 7:00 p.m. game start.
