Paul Russell was named assistant coach of the Curry College men's ice hockey program prior to the start of the 2022-23 season.

His role at Curry is Russell's first time behind the bench of a collegiate hockey team. He spent the previous two seasons with the Crimson Hockey Club as a skills coach and the U16 head coach. 

A native of Andover, Mass., Russell earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Norwich University in 2017. Russell was a four-year letter winner for the Cadets where he helped the men's ice hockey program win the program's fourth national championship his senior year, scoring a goal in the title game against Trinity College.

Upon graduating Russell competed in 52 professional games in the Southern Professional Hockey League.
