Assistant Coach Mike Sones joins the Men's ice hockey coaching staff for the 2024-2025 season. 

 

Prior to joining Curry College, Sones was most recently on the UMass Dartmouth ice hockey coaching staff since 2019. He worked with the team’s defensemen, assisting with practices, and helping the players skill development. In the 2019- 2020 season, he helped lead the team to the conference finals.

 

As a player, Sones transferred to UMass Dartmouth from Curry College after his freshman season. He netted 39 goals and tallied 41 assists for 80 points over 79 games as a Corsair from 2015-2018. He also served as an assistant captain. Prior to his collegiate career, Sones played in the British Columbia Hockey League and the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

 

A native of Waterdown, Ont., Sones is also the Director of Marketing at Shoot to Score in Dedham, MA. He currently resides in Plymouth, Mass with his wife Lindsay and his son Logan.
