Soderwall Earns Fourth CNE Goalie of the Week Award

Curry College goaltender Shane Soderwall has been named Conference of New England Goalie of the Week for the fourth time this season, announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon.

Soderwall picked up his seventh and eighth shutout victories of the season, extending his Curry ice hockey record for most shutouts by a goalie in a single season as well as the career record with 13 and counting. The sophomore kept Wentworth off the scoreboard for two straight games with 25 saves in Friday's 1-0 victory and 41 in the following day's Senior Day game that saw the Colonels takedown the Leopards 4-0.

Soderwall's record-setting year has him sitting at an impressive record of 18-3, with a total of 497 saves, 1.34 goals against average, and a .948 save percentage in 1,210 minutes of gameplay.

The Colonels sit on top of the CNE standings with 40 points, three ahead of UNE and seven ahead of Endicott. The Colonels are set to face off against those teams this weekend in a pair of big games that will likely decide the winner of the regular season conference championship.
