Eelis Laaksonen Earns CNE Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week

For the first time this season, senior forward Eelis Laaksonen (Espoo, Finland) has been named Conference of New England Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon.

Laaksonen combined for five points in the Colonels pair of wins over Johnson & Wales University. He had two goals and two assists in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Wildcats and added one goal in the following day's 5-1 win.

Laaksonen leads the Colonels in points on the season with a total of 22. He also leads the squad with 13 goals through 18 games and is third in assists with nine. He also leads the team in the plus/minus category with a +16.

Laaksonen and the Colonels return to action on Friday, January 31st when they host Suffolk for the Hockey Fights Cancer game. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
