Canton, MA - After falling to UNE 2-1 on Friday, the Curry Men's Hockey team beat the Nor'easters on Saturday by the same 2-1 score. With the win, the Colonels are now 9-3-0 on the season, and 6-2-0 in CNE play. The Nor'easters are now 6-4-1 and 5-3-0.

Midway through the first period, Gage Dill, George Vonakis, and Taurin Haddon-Harris played a game of tic-tac-toe, with crisp passes leading to a Haddon-Harris goal. Once the puck was in the net, the ice was covered in teddy bears thrown from the crowd, as the Colonels participated in their annual Teddy Bear Toss. That goal would hold up until early in the third when UNE tied things up with a power play goal. With just eight minutes left in the game, George Vonakis found a loose puck in front of the net, and put it away while on the ground. That goal would give the Colonels the win.

Both goals for the Colonels were power play goals, and the Colonels had plenty of opportunities, as UNE committed Eight penalties. The Curry penalty alos played well, as they shutdown a 5-3 opportunity for UNE.

Shane Soderwall made 29 saves as he picked up his ninth win of the season.

Up Next - The Colonels will be back in action after the new year, hosting Trinity on January 2nd at 4pm.
