Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Earn CCC Weekly Awards

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Three Curry College ice hockey student-athletes earned weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior captain Tao Ishizuka (Providence, R.I.) earned his first CCC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week award of the season. Ishizuka scored three points in a two-win week for the Colonels, netting the first Curry goal in the overtime victory over Endicott on Friday, while dishing out two assists in Saturday's win over Albertus Magnus.

Men's ice hockey goalie Shane Soderwall (Algonquin, Ill.) earned his third CCC Goaltender of the Week award for his performance in the Colonels' 2-1 overtime victory over Endicott on Friday. The freshman collected 32 saves while improving to a 1.47 goals allowed average and a .950 save percentage.

Graduate student Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) earned Goaltender of the Week on the women's side, leading the Colonels to a pair of 5-0 shutout victories over Nichols College on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Archambeault made 17 saves on the road and 19 saves at home while managing to assist on a goal in the home contest.
