
BIDDEFORD, Maine - #7 Curry men's ice hockey netminder Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Goaltender and Co-Player of the Year and freshman Gage Dill (Estero, Fla.) the CCC Rookie of the Year, highlighting six Colonels named to All-Conference teams on Wednesday afternoon.
Cooper was named to the CCC All-Conference First Team alongside forward Timmy Kent (Parkland, Fla.) and defenseman Nick Favaro (Vaughan, Ontario.). Forward Mark Zhukov (St. Petersburg, Russia) was Curry's lone selection to the CCC Second Team All-Conference selection, while Dill and classmate Matt Connor (Nottingham, N.H.) earned Third Team honors.
Cooper currently ranks second in the CCC with a save percentage of .934 with a goals against average of 1.93. He has won 19 games on the season, good for third in the NCAA.
Kent ranks third in the CCC in scoring, with 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points. Favaro was tied for fourth in scoring with 33 points on eight goals and 25 assists. He ranks third in the nation in scoring amongst defensemen.
Zhukov is currently the CCC's leading scorer, despite only playing in 20 of Curry's 27 games so far this season. He has accumulated 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points on the year.
Dill earns Rookie of the Year honors after ranking third in the nation and first in the CCC in scoring among freshmen. He has accumulated 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points on the year, and leads the CCC with seven power play goals. Connor tied for third in the CCC among defensemen with 20 points on five goals and 15 assists in his rookie season.
Curry opens play in the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday evening contest at home against Bowdoin. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
