#6 Men's Ice Hockey Toppled by #3 Endicott in Overtime

BEVERLY, Mass. - The sixth-ranked Curry College men's ice hockey team suffered a 2-1 overtime defeat at the hands of #3 Endicott College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

With the defeat, Curry's unbeaten streak ends at 11 games, as the Colonels fall to 15-3-1 overall on the season and 11-3-1 in the CCC.

Curry opened the scoring on a goal from sophomore Makem Demers (Wilbraham, Mass.) just 1:49 into the contest, with assists credited to Taurin Haddon-Harris (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Kevin Pitts (Pointe-Claire, Quebec). 

The score remaining 1-0 until midway through the third period, when Endicott scored on the power play to knot the score at 1-1, which would hold up for the rest of regulation, sending the teams to overtime for the second consecutive day. 

Just over three minutes into the overtime session, Andrew Kurapov scored the game-winning goal for the Gulls, giving the hosts the extra point in the CCC standings. 

Between the pipes, Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) turned aside 36 of 38 shots faced in the losing effort. He moves to 13-3-1 overall on the season.

Next up for Curry, they will host Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Friday evening against Salve Regina at the Canton Ice House. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
