#14 Men's Ice Hockey Slipped Up by Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The #14 Curry College men's ice hockey team dropped a tight 2-1 contest to Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

With the loss, the Colonels drop to 11-5-2 overall on the season, while moving to 9-4-1 in the CCC.

Endicott's Noah Strawn scored on the power play midway through the first period, putting the hosts on top 1-0, a score that would hold until early in the third period.Just 1:20 into the final frame, the Gulls extended their advantage to two when Andrew Kurapov netted an unassisted tally. 

A shade under five minutes later, Curry would net its only goal of the afternoon when senior Vilhelm Peltonen (Helsinki, Finland) buried his second goal of the season. Notching assists on the play were Tarek Paranica (Grand Forks, N.D.) and George Vonakis (Abingdon, Md.).

Curry senior goaltender Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) looked sharp between the pipes for the Colonels despite the loss, notching 39 saves on 41 shots in the defeat.

Curry will have a quick turnaround, hosting Suffolk University for a rescheduled contest at 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the Canton Ice House.
