#10 Men's Ice Hockey Sees Home Unbeaten Streak Come to End

CANTON, Mass. - The #10 Curry College men's ice hockey team was shut out 2-0 by Salve Regina University Friday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Canton Ice House.

With the loss, Curry's streak of eight straight home victories to open the season comes to an end. The Colonels fall to 11-4-2 overall and 9-3-1 in the CCC.

Neither team found the back of the net until the closing minutes of the second period, when Salve Regina's George Sennott broke the ice with his seventh goal of the season on a feed from Danton Zimmer to put his team ahead 1-0.

With 5:08 showing on the clock in the third, Sennott pushed his team ahead by a pair with his second goal of the night to all but seal the victory.

Curry pulled netminder Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) with 1:48 to play, but still could not solve Nicholas Latinovich, who posted a 36-save shutout. Cooper finished the evening with 23 saves.

Next up for the Colonels, they will look to return to the win column on Friday night at home against Suffolk University. Puck drop from the Canton Ice House is slated for 7 p.m.
