MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Hockey is excited to announce the class of 2019 and the Freshman class for the 2014/15 season. This year's freshman represent 4 countries; USA, Canada, Switzerland, and Mexico as well as 4 different leagues; United States Premier Hockey League (USPH), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and New England Prep School.

In addition to welcoming the Freshman class, we are also very excited to add Assistant Coach, Dave Nies. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2013 with a degree in Criminology. In 2014 he graduated from Ohio University with a Masters in the Coaching Education Program.

Nies was a four year starter at the USM playing left wing.  His outstanding contributions to the team on and off the ice earned him the recognition of team captain during his senior year in 2012-2013. Upon graduation he assisted his alma mater for one year.  He also was the assistant at Ohio while getting his masters.

At Curry College, Nies is responsible for recruiting, on-ice skills development, off-ice strength and conditioning, video analysis, community involvement and academic monitoring as well as practice and game preparation.

Nies was born in Brookline, Mass.  He attended Brookline High School and currently resides in Quincy.
