Hockey Team Helps Milton Youth “Learn to Skate”

MILTON, Mass. - This season, the Curry College Men's Hockey Team participated in the Milton Youth Hockey "Learn to Skate Program" which has been in operation since 1965. Colonel players volunteered their time on Sunday mornings to help teach the 87 boys and 78 girls to skate and have fun.

"The 165 youngsters in Milton Youth Hockey's "Learn to Skate Program'" have benefitted tremendously from the help and skating instruction provided by the players on the Curry College hockey team.  I am grateful to Coach TJ Manastersky, who was key in developing and promoting this valuable community partnership," said, Bob Sweeney, Program Director.

"As a hockey program, we are committed to a positive and cooperative relationship with the Milton community, in particular Milton Youth Hockey. It is always so much fun to see young boys and girls at our games supporting us and we thank Bob Sweeney for the opportunity to give back," said TJ Manastersky, Head Coach.

"Having the opportunity to work with Milton Youth Hockey was a great experience. Bob Sweeney and the volunteer's that we worked with were all very enthusiastic about making the youth in Milton better skaters. "Learn to Skate" is a great program and we are all very excited to be a part of it going forward," said Braeden Ruud, Team Captain.
