Seven Student-Athletes Named to ECAC Northeast All-Academic Hockey Team

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Eastern College Athletic Conference Commissioner Rudy Keeling announced today the ECAC Northeast All-Academic ice hockey team for the 2011-12 season. This marks the 11th year that the conference has named an all-academic team. A total of 61 student-athletes representing all eight ECAC Northeast teams earned this honor based on outstanding performance in the classroom.

Curry College seniors Ryan Barlock (Chicago, Ill.) and Payden Benning (Estevan, Saskatchewan), juniors Ian DeLong (Kutztown, Pa.), Connor Hendry (Calgary, Alberta) and Brett Kaneshiro (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and sophomores Alexander Barr (West Milford, N.J) and Brad Devereaux, So. (Duxbury, Mass.) were all named to the team.

To be named to the all-academic team, the student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at the institution, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of his team’s contests during the current season (a goaltender must have played at least 33 percent of his team’s minutes).
