Six Colonels Earn ECAC Northeast All-Conference Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Commissioner Rudy Keeling of the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced today the ECAC Northeast all-conference hockey teams for the 2011-12 season. The team is voted on by the coaches of the league each year.

Senior forward Jeremiah Ketts (Foristell, Mo./Peoria Mustangs,CSHL) of Johnson & Wales University earned Player of the Year in the ECAC Northeast for the second year in a row. Ketts finished the season with 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points during conference play, helping to lead the Wildcats to a fifth-place finish in the regular season. He led the ECAC Northeast in points (35), assists (23) and power play points (16).

Goalie Jacob Rinn (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate High School) of Nichols College was voted Goalie of the Year, compiling a .919 save percentage and a 2.42 goals-against average in ECAC Northeast league play. Rinn was ranked second in the ECAC Northeast in goals-against average, first in save percentage, and third in winning percentage (.731). Nichols earned a No. 3 seed in this year's ECAC Northeast Ice Hockey Championship Tournament.

Louie Educate (Chicago, Ill./Aberdeen Wings, NAHL) from Nichols College was voted Rookie of the Year for his outstanding play this season. He concluded the conference season with 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points. He is ranked third overall in points (25), first in goal scoring (15), first in game-winning goals (4), and leads all freshmen in scoring.

R.J. Tolan was voted Coach of the Year after leading Wentworth to an 11-2-1 conference record. The Leopards finished first in the regular season standings.

Joining Ketts and Sorenson on the All-ECAC Northeast First Team is Curry's Payden Benning (Estevan, Saskatchewan/ Estevan Bruins, SJHL), who finished the regular season with 22 points on 13 goals and nine assists. Skylur Jameson (Long Beach, Calif./Wichita Falls, NAHL), a forward from Wentworth, fills out the first team forwards. The defensemen for the All-ECAC Northeast First Team are Curry's Ryan Barlock (Chicago, Ill./Springfield Jr. Blues,NAHL) and Johnson & Wales' Domenic Recchia (Sterling Heights, Mich./Michigan Ice Dogs, CSHL). Barlock was ranked second in assists (19), power-play points (14) and led all ECAC Northeast defensemen in scoring. Recchia was ranked second in scoring for all defensemen.
