Davies 1 of 13 Candidates for National Coach of the Year
MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Men’s Ice Hockey Head Coach Rob Davies is one of 13 candidates for the 2010-11 Edward Jeremiah Award honoring the College Division Men’s National Coach of the Year.

Other candidates include: Norm Bazin, Hamilton; Tim Coghlin, St. Norbert; Ron Fogarty, Adrian; Ed Gosek, Oswego State; Gary Heenan, Utica, Chris Howe, Concordia; Matt Loen, UW-Eau Claire; Mike McShane, Norwich; Mark Ostapina, MSOE; John Rolli, UMass-Dartmouth; Chris Schultz, Geneseo; and Alex Todd, Castleton State.

Curry finished the 2010-2011 season with an overall record of 16-9-3. The Colonels finished first in the ECAC Northeast with a 10-2-2 mark in league play. His peers chose Davies as the 2010-2011 Coach of the Year.

As the #1 seed in the conference tournament, Curry defeated Becker College, 5-1, in the semi-finals; and Wentworth, 2-1 in overtime, in the ECAC Northeast Championship Game. It was the Colonels' second-consecutive conference title and NCAA Tournament bid. Curry traveled to defending national champion and current national semi-finalist Norwich for a first-round Tournament game, dropping a 5-1 decision to the Cadets.
