MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 102-78 by Gordon College in a Conference of New England men's basketball game Wednesday night at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Colonels' overall record falls to 2-14 while their conference record drops to 1-8.
After a slow start that found the Colonels trailing 19-2 just five minutes into the contest, a layup by Shawn Charles broke the visitor's scoring run. Gordon continued to pile on, amassing a 31-point advantage with just over six minutes remaining in the first half. Shortly after, a dunk by Favour Okeke jumpstarted a 10-0 scoring run for Curry that was capped off by a jumper by Jeremiah Predin, cutting the Fighting Scots' lead to 56-31 heading into halftime.
Okeke knocked down a pair of threes, leading the home team with 19 points by the final buzzer. Charles went 7-for-9 from the field, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals. TJ LeCadre was efficient off the bench, scoring 11 points and dishing out six assists.
Curry College returns to action on Saturday, January 25th, to host Suffolk at Katz Gymnasium beginning at 2 p.m.
