Men’s Basketball Outshined by Beacons

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated by UMass Boston in a non-conference collegiate men's basketball game Monday night at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 1-5 on the season.

Shawn Charles was dominant in the paint during the first half, scoring 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting including three dunks. Favour Okeke had eight points in the half, shooting a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the three-point line.

Charles continued to shine for the Colonels in the second half, finishing with a team-high 20 points on an efficient 10-for-12 from the field. He also earned a double-double with 10 rebounds while dishing out four assists, three blocks, and a steal. Jaiden Mann was another impactful player with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists while Jeremiah Predin at 13 points and six rebounds coming off the bench.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, December 4th, to take on Endicott College in the season's first Conference of New England matchup. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
