Men's Basketball Opens 2022 with Loss to Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. - The Curry College men's basketball team dropped its first contest of the 2022 calendar year, falling 112-64 to Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Thursday evening.

With the loss, Curry drops to 2-9 overall on the season and 1-3 in CCC play.

The Colonels finished the contest with three players in double figures, paced by sophomore Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.), who matched a season- and career-high of 14 points in the defeat.

Coming in right behind Torres was junior Angelo Sardegna (Tampa, Fla.), with 13 points. Coming off the bench, freshman Ryan Foley (Millbury, Mass.) set a career-high with 11 points.

Nichols got a 31-point, 16-rebound performance from Matt Morrow to help the hosts cruise to the victory. 

Curry will return to the hardwood for its first home game of 2022, hosting Endicott College Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Katz Gymnasium.
