BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team brought its three-game skid to a halt Wednesday evening, as the Hawks defeated Curry College 70-62.

RWU moves to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference while Curry falters to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in the CCC.

The Hawks held an early 8-4 lead before the Colonels managed to regain the advantage on a pair of free throws by Carlos Ribeiro (Charlestown, Mass.). Roger Williams eventually went back on top 16-11, with Jake LePrevost (Lee, Mass.) going 1-for-2 at the line to give the Hawks their largest lead with 11:33 left in the half.

In the blink of an eye, Curry used a barrage of three-pointers to power a 16-0 run over the next three minutes to go on top by 11. The Colonels would help use the cushion to take a four-point lead into halftime.

Roger Williams climbed its way back on top in the second half, with Andrew Wasik (Gainesville, Fla.) draining a three to give the Hawks a 38-37 advantage with 15:52 to play. Lambros Papalambros (Quincy, Mass.) later tied the contest at 44 apiece with a jumper at the 12:17 mark.

Roger Williams pushed the lead back to six with just over eight minutes to play and managed to hold off Curry's attempts to come back by forcing six turnovers in the final seven minutes of the game.

Ryan Palumbo (Warwick, R.I.) set a new career high with 25 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Chris Bardwell (North Andover, Mass.) earned his third double-double of the year with ten points and a season-best 13 rebounds. Wasik added 11 points and three boards while Zac Campbell (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished with ten points and three steals off the bench.

Papalambros led Curry with 24 points in addition to five steals and five rebounds. Antonio Jones (Dorchester, Mass.) scored ten points while Thomas McLean (Paxton, Mass.) finished with a game-high 17 rebounds. Ribeiro scored 18 in the game before leaving the game with a leg injury.
