Jones, Papalambros Earn All-CCC Recognition
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - All 10 member institutions from the Commonwealth Coast Conference were represented on the 2011-12 All-CCC Men’s Basketball Team and the list of major individual award winners, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

In addition to the all-conference team, Salve Regina University graduate student Ryan Birrell was named CCC Player of the Year and CCC Defensive Player of the Year, Endicott College freshman Andre Makris was tabbed CCC Rookie of the Year, University of New England’s Ryan Knotek was honored as Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Salve Regina’s Sean Foster was selected as CCC Coach of the Year, and Gordon College and Wentworth Institute of Technology captured the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men’s basketball coaches.

Joining  Birrell on the first team were David Dempsey (Gordon), Patrick Flanagan (Roger Williams), Lance Greene (Endicott), Sedale Jones (Curry) and Ryan Sheehan (Nichols).

Second team selections included Chima Ezeigbo (Eastern Nazarene), Lambros Papalambros (Curry), Isiah Pringle (Salve Regina), Andre Shaw (Western New England) and Corey Therriault (Wentworth).

Accompanying Makris as honorable mention recipients were Charles Fenner III (University of New England), John Henault (Endicott), Matt Langadas (Nichols), Lachlan Magee (Endicott) and Derek Mayo (Wentworth).
