SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Curry College junior forward A.J. Stephens (Stamford, Conn) has been named as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week for the period of January 30 - February 5.

He shot 50% (21-of-42) from the field as he averaged 18.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steals as the Colonels grabbed two wins out of their three contests in a week of top CCC opponents.

Stephens opened the week contributing 14 points and eight rebounds in a 73-61 losing effort to University of New England. He went on to tally a 26-point, 12-rebound double-double in 22 minutes of play to help the Colonels to a 64-60 road win over Roger Williams. Stephens once again proved to be a major factor on the court in the final contest of the week against Salve Regina. He scored 14 points and grabbed 15 boards and collected two steals against the Seahawks to help seal an 80-73 victory over the conference leader.
