Men's Basketball Defeated 91-77 By Visiting Eastern Nazarene
MILTON, Mass. – Visiting Eastern Nazarene handed Curry College its eighth-straight loss, 91-77, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) men’s basketball action Saturday afternoon in Milton. The Lions improved to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in TCCC action, while the Colonels slipped to 4-17 overall and 2-7 in conference play.

ENC took its biggest lead of the opening frame (31-19) after a three-pointer by sophomore guard Max Barbosa (Dorchester, MA) with 8:01 remaining. Curry slowly chipped away, trimming the lead to seven (48-41) at the break.

At 16:19 of the second half, the Colonels pulled to within one (53-52) after a jumper by sophomore forward Sedale Jones (Pittsfield, MA). But the Lions responded with a 13-1 run over the next four and a half minutes, leaving the hosts with an insurmountable deficit.

ENC was led by Barbosa’s game-high 25 points. Freshman guard John Flakes Jr. scored 19 points, while junior guard DeAngelo Alston (West Columbia, SC) contributed 15 and sophomore forward John Cramer (Corning, NY) chipped in with 12. Flakes led the Lions with nine rebounds.

Jones led Curry with a team-high 18 points. Freshman forward Kenny Hull added 15, senior forward Chris Bonadies (Medfield, MA) contributed 14 and sophomore forward Eric Guglielmello (Paxton, MA). The Colonels were led on the glass by Bonadies with nine boards.

Both teams resume play on February 8, with Eastern Nazarene hosting New England College and Curry traveling to Salve Regina. Both contests have an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
