Cabral and Quinn Earn CNE Weekly Awards

The Conference of New England league offices announced Monday afternoon that two Curry College student-athletes received weekly awards for outstanding performances over the weekend.

Junior running back Montie Quinn (Goose Creek, S.C.) earned Offensive Player of the Week for his historic performance in the Colonels' 47-41 win over Nichols. Quinn rushed 27 times for 381 yards, shattering Raphael Zammit's previous Curry College single-game rushing record of 319 yards set in 2003. He also averaged 14.1 yards per carry and had touchdown runs of 60, 31, 79, and 59 yards. The game marked his third straight with at least 258 rushing yards. Quinn leads all of Division III in rushing yards with 1,483 on the season.

Junior Manny Cabral (Providence, R.I.) shot out to a hot start for Curry College men's ice hockey, scoring two goals and two assists for a total of four points in the Colonels' 3-2 overtime loss, and 4-1 win over Endicott. Cabral leads the Colonels in points through four games with five on two goals and three assists. The men's ice hockey team sits at 3-1 to start the season and is ranked #8 in the most recent USCHO Division III Men's Ice Hockey Poll.

Curry College football closes out the 2024 campaign with Senior Day against Endicott on Saturday, November 16th, while ice hockey looks for wins four and five in back-to-back conference games against Western New England on Friday and Saturday.
