Football Knocked Down by Husson

BANGOR, Maine - Curry College was defeated by Husson 28-7 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference football game Saturday afternoon at Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.

With the loss against Husson, the Colonels fall to 0-1 in CCC play while dropping to 2-4 overall.

Curry's only touchdown came late in the fourth quarter when freshman Colin Ridley (Peabody, Mass.) caught an 18-yard pass from his classmate Michael Moriarty (Rockland, Mass.) to complete a five-play, 45-yard drive and put the Colonels on the board.

Ridley led Curry with six receptions for 50 yards while Montie Quinn (Goose Creek, S.C.) spearheaded the rushing game, finishing with 65 yards on 18 rushing attempts, including a 13-yard run.

Junior Adem Kica (Oxford, Conn.) led the Colonels defensively with 13 total tackles, including six solo tackles. Senior Michael Sims (Baltic, Conn.) finished with 11 tackles, while graduate student Kevin Peete (Boston, Mass.) had 10. Freshman Alan Paulino (Peabody, Mass.) also had an interception, his second of the year, while senior Kurtees Poisson (Taunton, Mass.) had nine tackles, including one sack.

The Colonels finished with 179 yards of total offense, 92 of which were accumulated through the rushing game.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday (10/21) to host the University of New England. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
