Football Scores Season-High 47 Points in Win Over Dean

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College enjoyed its highest offensive output of the season, defeating Dean College 47-14 Saturday afternoon in non-conference collegiate football action at Walter M. Katz Field.

Montie Quinn (Goose Creek, S.C.) paced the Colonels offensively, accumulating 133 rushing yards on 26 attempts for two touchdowns, including a 40-yard score near the end of the first half.

Freshman Hunter Telesco (New Canaan, Conn.) was another major contributor to the rushing game, finishing with 51 yards on three attempts, including a 24-yard rushing touchdown halfway through the third quarter.

Dallas Murphy (Plymouth, Mass.) and Michael Moriarty (Rockland, Mass.) played as a committee at the quarterback position, combining for 163 passing yards with each quarterback throwing one touchdown pass.

Freshman Lucas Leander (Rockland, Mass.) received a 24-yard pass to score the first Curry touchdown of the game just over three and a half minutes into the start of competition. In the third quarter, senior Joe Fusaro (Westerly, R.I.) was wide open for a 60-yard touchdown pass from Moriarty for the second passing touchdown of the game and his first of the season.

Pete Jurovich (Winthrop, Mass.) led a dominant Colonels defense, finishing with six tackles, two and a half sacks, and an interception at the end of the third quarter that he ran back 26 yards for the first touchdown of his collegiate career. Jolil Walker (Baltimore, Md.) and Kevin Peete (Boston, Mass.) also had interceptions.

Trevor Swanbeck (Dudley, Mass.) went 2-for-3 on field goals, including a 38-yarder, while going 5-for-6 on extra-point opportunities, finishing with 11 total points.

The Colonels finished with 384 yards of total offense compared to 248 for the Bulldogs. Curry also dominated the run game, finishing with a total of 221 rushing yards while Dean had 125.

Curry College (2-3) begins Commonwealth Coast Conference play on Saturday (10/14) in a road game against Husson. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
