Bangor, Maine - The Curry College football team fell short in its Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, suffering a 21-14 defeat against Husson University.

With the loss, Curry holds a conference play record of 0-2 and falls to 2-3 overall on the season. 

Husson improves to 1-0 in the CCC and 4-1 overall.

Husson got on the board first with a four-yard touchdown pass completed from Nic Visser (Santa Rosa, Calif.) to Tyler Halls (Lisbon, Maine.) capping off a 52-yard, 10 play drive with seven minutes left in the first quarter.

The Eagles extended their lead just five minutes into the second quarter with another touchdown pass completed from Nic Visser (Santa Rosa, Calif.) to Tyler Halls (Lisbon, Maine.). The 46-yard pass ended a 10 play, 80-yard drive putting Husson up 14-0.

After a slew of penalties against Husson, the Eagles are forced to punt facing 4th and 28 on their own 14-yard line. The Colonels march down for a score from the Husson 34-yard line. Pass to Devon Hughes (Mashpee, Mass.) from Justin Mullaney (Danvers, Mass.) sends Curry into the half down 14-7.

Husson furthers their lead midway through the third quarter quickly moving the ball down the field, scoring after a three-play, 80-yard drive. Pass completed by Nic Visser (Santa Rosa, Calif.) to Jon Bell (Skowhegan, Maine). The 49-yard touchdown put the Eagles ahead 21-7.

The Colonels score once more with a 27-yard completion from Justin Mullaney (Danvers, Mass.) to Tahg Coakley (Danvers, Mass.) capping off a 90-yard drive. Curry, even with the score, was unable to come back from the deficit, falling to the Husson Eagles 21-14.

Curry senior quarterback Justin Mullaney (Danvers, Mass.) finished the contest with 29 completions on 50 attempts for 291 yards.

Nine different Colonels caught passes from Mullaney, led by Miles Cogdell (Hamden, Conn.) with 5 catches for 49 yards, a team-high in the loss.

Defensively, Gregory Silvia (Coventry, R.I.) led Curry with 11 tackles in the defeat, 7 of them solo. 

Curry will return to the gridiron on Saturday against Western New England at 1 p.m. for a homecoming matchup on Walter M. Katz Field.
