Shairs Named as a Second Team Preseason D3 All-American by BSN

LEESBURG, Va. – Curry College senior Jordan Shairs (Gloucester, Mass.) has been named as a second-team preseason All-American by Beyond Sports Network (BSN). The BSN 2014 Preseason D3 All-America Football Team, made up of 93 football players from around the country, was chosen based on returning All-Americans from the 2013 BSN All-America Football Team, highest vote recipients in the 2013 BSN All- American Voting, statistics and game evaluations.

Shairs led the Colonels in receptions, receiving yards, scoring and all-purpose yards a year ago. The fullback and 2014 team captain had 55 catches for 517 yards and eight receiving touchdowns. Shairs was the squad's #2 rusher a year ago with 71 carries for 489 yards and five touchdowns. He scored 80 points on 13 combined TDs and one two-point conversion.

Shairs enters the 2014 campaign just two yards shy of 1,000 career rushing yards. The Colonels open the new season at home on Friday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m., hosting non-league rival W.P.I.
